Camera lens for travel photography

In today’s post we shall be discussing the lenses that you need to take along with you in your next journey.
What to expect:
This post is not an exact and a final answer to this topic, rather gives you choices and various combinations of it.
What kind of lens to carry:
While we are on a journey there may be several problems and difficulties due to which we don’t want to carry a bulky, heavy lens, so first consideration is the weight of the lens, thelens should be light & easy to carry.
So next thing to think on is what kind of objects you will be photographing, animals, people, architecture or landscape, or may be all. So carry appropriate lens/lenses depending upon the objects you will be capturing.
Another thing to keep in mind is to carry lens that can withstand the harshness of weather to some extent. By this we just mean that don’t carry lens prone to some issues.
Lets start with lens options:
1.) Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
Canon EF-S 10-22 mm is wide angle zoom lens with f/3.5-4.5 maximum aperture. The lens has a superior AF performance and speed.
Three Aspherical lens elements, plus a Super-UD element, assure image quality. Its ring-type USM means fast and silent AF along with full-time manual focus. It focuses as close as 9.5 inches.
This exciting new zoom lens provides ultra wide-angle coverage to the EOS 20D and Digital Rebel shooter. Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM
The Canon EF 24-105 mm lens is great for portrait, museum and mid range shots.

Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM
This canon lens has a shallow depth of field and is very well suitable for taking portraits with blurred background.
The lens construction includes UD and aspherical elements, which deliver impressive image quality throughout the entire zoom range. Image Stabilizer lens groups shift to compensate for camera movement so that the image appears steady on the image plane, ensuring clear, crisp images, even in dim light.
3.) Sigma 30 mm f 1.4 EX DC HSM
Placed under the Art category, this large-aperture standard lens with an angle of view equivalent to 45mm on a 35mm camera is a superb go-to lens for artistic photography on an APS-C format digital SLR. Offering the bright F1.4 aperture and an angle of view extremely close to that of human vision, this lens is ideal for many different types of photography.
The lens is great for portraits, close ups, wide angle and low light shots.
Canon EF 24-70 mm f 2.8 L USM
This mid range lens is great for taking portraits, museums etc, but still not suitable to take very close shots.
EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM is Canon EF24-70mm f/2.8 at Amazon.com the latest update to the acclaimed L-Series of EF optics, re-establishing a new standard for superb optics, high-end durable construction and performance in professional zoom lenses. A standard focal length zoom lens, it features a large aperture throughout its focal length. Featuring the latest advances in optical lens design, it utilizes 1 Super UD lens element and 2 UD lens elements that help minimize chromatic aberration in the periphery at wide-angle as well as reduced colour blurring around the edges of the subject.

4.) Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X116 Pro DX II
This ultra wide lens provides a great coverage for landscapes.
The New Tokina AT-X 116 PRO DX-II is an update to the widely popular and award winning AT-X 116 PRO DX, 11-16 F/2.8 lens.
The main update to this lens is in the Nikon mount, the AT-X 116 PRO DX-II has an internal silent focusing motor to allow the lens to AF on Nikon bodies that do not have an AF drive gear and motor.
There have also been some adjustments made to the coating for slightly improved optical performance.
This compact ultra wide-angle zoom has a bright constant F/2.8 aperture make viewing and auto focus possible in lower light situations but still maintaining a reasonable size and weight.
Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
The Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM standard zoom lens sets a new standard for everyday photography on APS-C sensors. With a focal length range equivalent to 24-136mm in 35mm format, image stabilization and high-precision optics, this lens offers stellar performance from wide-angle through to telephoto.
